Today is the final day of school in our school district. Hooray! (say some) Oh bother. (say others) I say, "Hooray" and "Oh bother." It is with mixed emotion that I face this coming summer break. My "baby" will be entering his senior year of high school at the end of the summer break.
He seems to already be wiser than his year, yet he is still just a child. He is looking forward to his life, but it is with some trepidation also. He is going into the future with his eyes tighly closed. He has dreams and aspirations that many hold. I hope that he reaches them. I fear that he may have to settle for something more down to earth. My prayer is that he will let God guide him and his decisions. He will always be happy if he does that.
So, as I said, it is a new day. I think that I will notice a lot more things this summer. I know that I will try to get him to talk to me a little more this summer. I also want to spend as much time as I can with him. He has a lot to contribute and has always been a vital part of our family.
I know that I will miss him when he is gone, but for now, I will enjoy having him with me for this final summer,
The new day has begun, and I expect it to become several new days as his dad and I adjust to life alone again. We are looking forward to being able to be selfish with each other's time once again.
"Dear Lord, give us wisdom this year to guide our young one in the right path. Help us to let go of him, and help us to enjoy each other during this new day."
Cool Musings -- Welcome To A Cool Place
This is a place where I can write what I want to write and where you can read it. You can agree or disagree with me. It is okay. It probably won't change my mind, but, hey, you never know. This blog is more about my day to day life, but for something a little deeper, refer to Hippie Chick's Devotionals.
